Known for its socially-charged activation of public opinion through music and visual art, BANAL was invited by the Museum of Contemporary Art of Montréal to create a performance in response to Pussy Riot’s Velvet Terrorism.
Short video by Concordia University Film Production students Maria-Luz Faddoul, Marika Fortin-Turmel, and Marianne Hébert–Beaulieu.
During the course of four months, BANAL collected museum visitors’ anonymized and polarizing SMS confessions which they integrated to their live performance on February 22, 2024 namely through a karaoke session with audience members.
